Nick Oketch

Nick Oketch’s main inspiration is to fight for and advance gender equality, youth development, and sexual health and rights. His work focuses on youth rights advocacy and capacity building for young women and adolescents in his community in Kenya. Nick is currently the director and founder of Paradigm Youth Network Organization, which aims to break the culture of silence around sex and sexuality among young people and adolescents. Nick is a Women Deliver Young Leader from the Class of 2016 and a 2018 Mandela Washington Fellow, a flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) that empowers young people through academic coursework, leadership training, and networking in the U.S.

Dr. Sumiti Saharan is the Director of Research and Design at Avegen. With over a decade of research experience, and expertise in critical thinking and evidence-based problem solving, Sumiti is responsible for strategic solution design and impact evaluation of Avegen’s digital healthcare products. She is passionate about developing innovative solutions that can deliver effective individualized healthcare journeys and improve quality of healthcare. Currently, she is focusing on improving quality of care in maternal health through the Together for her platform.

Cynthia Kahumbura

Organization: Nivi Inc.

Cynthia Kahumbura

Cynthia is the Marketing Lead at Nivi Inc. Nivi, launched in Kenya and recently in India, helps women and men of all ages to get information about family planning, sexual and reproductive health as well as get connected to the health services around. Her passion in building SME’s and the education and elevation of young women in Kenya, has been the driving force through the different companies and women she has worked with. Applying her 13 years of marketing experience in both the public and private sector, she joined Nivi to effect change in the access and behaviors by young women in the adoption of contraceptives through technology.

Sara Wolfe

Organization: Seventh Generation Midwives Toronto

Sara Wolfe

Sara Wolfe is Anishnawbe-kwe from Brunswick House First Nation in Northern Ontario. She is a registered midwife and finished her MBA at the Rotman School of Management. A first-generation residential school survivor, Sara has worked for more than two decades in Indigenous community and perinatal health, in both urban and remote communities. She is a founding partner of Seventh Generation Midwives Toronto and is the lead for the Merck for Mother’s funded “Baby Bundles Project."
